Data acquisition

You may be wondering where LAPGOLF gets its data from. After all, with all the amazing statistics LAPGOLF generates, it’s obvious this information is coming from somewhere.

Believe it or not, LAPGOLF gets all its data from you, the user. That’s right, by inputting your golf score card and recording the number of hits you make with each club, LAPGOLF can generate stacks of data about the particulars of your play, including where you need help the most.

What innovative statistics will you get from
LAPGOLF to help you with your golf score card?

With LAPGOLF, you can see the number of games you’ve played, which clubs you’ve used, along with how you play under certain conditions. This is possible thanks to LAPGOLF’s club selection features. Thanks to your LAPGOLF electronic golf score card, you’ll even know how many times you’ve played with your friends during your golf season!

Club statistics

As it relates to the golf score card, LAPGOLF has the ability to give you a variety of statistics pertaining to your clubs, these include:

1. Your longest shot and the average distance for each club you use;
2. The percentage of fairway hits you make, along with the percentage of shots to the right or to the left;
3. Percentages for the number of missed shots and penalty shots; and
4. The number of times you’ve used a specific club during a particular game

Putting statistics

There’s an old expression in golf: “drive for the show and putt for the dough.” By using the LAPGOLF electronic golf score card, you’ll undoubtedly be rolling in the dough with the wealth of putt statistics LAPGOLF can offer you. This includes:

1. Telling you how many times, and how many putts you’ve made when your ball landed on the green at a specific distance; (i.e. over 50 feet, there were 4 times when the golfer took 2 putts )
2. Giving you the percentage and number of putts used based on the distance from the hole;
3. Giving you the distance travelled by your ball on the green and how far away it is from the hole; and
4. Providing the number of putts for the game(s) you choose.

Round statistics for your golf score card

LAPGOLF also does custom statistics for each golf round, these include:

1. Updated, resuming charts that give the sum of the statistics shown above;
2. Greens in regulation and those not in regulation (that includes your putting charts);
3. Par, bogey, birdie, double eagle, hole in one, etc;
4. Ups and downs, fairway hits, penalties;
5. Total and average hits on par 3, 4, and 5;
6. + and – differential for your round;
7. Number of games played and where; and
8. Penalty splits by category.

Costs statistics

Want to know how much you’re spending on your game? With the LAPGOLF electronic golf score card, this is possible. LAPGOLF can even go so far as to break down what you spend on golf by each particular item. These items include:

1. Green fees;
2. Travelling;
3. Rented cart (electric or hand);
4. Clothing;
5. Golf lessons;
6. Golf clubs;
7. Golf balls;
8. Food and beverages;
9. And more!

I don’t have to tell LAPGOLF everything, do I?

No, of course not! If you wanted too, you could merely use LAPGOLF as an electronic golf score card device. However, LAPGOLF is capable of much more, and the more you put into the software, the more you get back in return.

How long does it take to input the information?

Next to no time at all. Entries can be made in the same amount of time you would spend filling out a traditional golf score card with a pencil.

What data do I enter on my desktop into LAPGOLF?

In all honesty, that all depends upon whether you chose to make a quick entry or a detailed entry. We’ve outlined both of these below:

  • The quick entry allows golfers to input their entire game into LAPGOLF in less than a minute. All you need to record is long shots, approach shots, putts, and your golf score card. Based on this, LAPGOLF can calculate golfing rules, the number of shots needed to put you on the green, along with your ups and downs (the quick entry is available on both Palm and computer versions of LAPGOLF).
  • The detailed entry – in many ways the preferred entry – takes slightly more time to input, however it easily pays off in the information you get back in return. With the detailed entry you input the same data as the quick entry (i.e. type of shot, golf score card, etc), along with the length you hit the ball with each club.

    You can also decide whether or not you want in put other additional data, including the weather, the number of missed shots, and penalties. With a detailed entry, LAPGOLF gains the ability to recommend which club you need to hit with.

    Also, when using the golf score card, if you think a shot you made should not be added into your average for a given club, you can choose to ask LAPGOLF not to calculate that shot. This may be because you missed the shot, or possibly because of an external distraction, nonetheless, whatever the reason, all you have to do is input distance as zero and LAPGOLF will add the shot, BUT IT WILL NOT calculate the distance.

    Regardless of which entry you chose, the data you enter will help LAPGOLF generate the much-needed averages that give you the specifics of your game.

    Guess who else is acquiring data

    LAPGOLF isn’t the only one acquiring data, you are as well. The data you provide LAPGOLF translates into direct tips and advice for you. This data can be used at anytime, on or off the green.

    LAPGOLF even comes with Pro-tips for golfers. This program within a program gives you a visual suggestion tool that can instruct you where to place your feet, how to place the ball, which club to use, and even what kind of a hitting position you need to be in before hitting the ball. This advice will be shown to you regardless of your normal stance, and regardless of whether you are a right- or left-handed golfer.

    The program also allows you to print summary data on your golf games. This allows you to bring the data to your instructor in order to facilitate quicker and more finely tuned assistance.

    Watch the numbers come off your golf score card

    Those numbers can come off your golf score card, and all it takes is spending a few minutes with LAPGOLF – and investment that pays for itself 100 times over.

    As already mentioned, entering data into LAPGOLF is quick and easy. However, you don’t have to take our word on it – see for yourself. Please visit the demonstration section of LAPGOLF’s website to see LAPGOLF in action today.
