In 2000, Michel DesGagné realized there was a need for a new way of precisely measuring a golfer’s performance. After much consultation and brainstorming, Michel envisioned a solution – a PDA golf software program that could analyze a golfer’s performance like no other. This program would provide personalized statistics, it would suggest which club to use, and it would even identify weaknesses in a golfer’s game … and all at the instant push of a button.

To help carry his dream to fruition, Michel created LAPGOLF International Developments Inc., a collaborative team of golf experts, statisticians, and software developers whom would work towards the singular aim of creating this revolutionary golf software program.

After 20,000 project hours, and with the assistance of over 40 people, this collaborative effort would pay off with the creation of the first beta version of LAPGOLF, released in 2004.

Since that time, LAPGOLF International Developments Inc. has steadily worked at improving the LAPGOLF software program; culminating in May 29, 2006 with the first commercial release of the LAPGOLF software program, LAPGOLF version 1.0.

For numerous years, I tried using various data collection software programs for golfers with the desire to find a tool that could genuinely improve a golfer’s skill set. In each instance I tried this, I found the process was far too long and laborious – leading me to think ‘there must be a better way.’

Six years ago, I started to develop my own system to collect information. I intended to create a simple, fast and precise way to collect and monitor my own golf data. While doing this, it then hit me – golfers can calculate their most wanted statistics at high levels of precision if they simply perform club management techniques and distinguish between their Long shots, Approach shots, and Putts at the point of data entry… This laid the foundation for LAPgolf.

Slowly, as I had more discussions with other golfers, I realized there was a genuine need for a tool that could precisely measure the fine details of a golfer’s playing skills on the golf course. At this point, the concept of LAPGOLF and the virtual golf caddy was born.

Today, I am proud of the final product conceived by our development team at LAPGOLF International Developments Inc. I am convinced that LAPGOLF software will not only exceed your expectations, but it will also help improve your game.
